Yeah, mrgto69 mentioned that in his post, you can go back and see why this happened for you.
I still feel there is too much of a gap. I have an early 70s 2nd gen f-body formula hub, I may try that on the new column, see what that gap looks like. Maybe I will swap them back and forth between the two columns and note the difference. The gap on the 71 'bird I have is tight. If I could get one of the original ones I have refurb'd, I'd probably use that. .

Funny that AMES sells the bun with SAE machined holes,but includes metric bolts with the hub. They do sell just the bolts. Those are probably SAE, but I didn’t buy them because I assumed they were the same as the ones that were included with the hub. Silly me...

Yeah, I think that was a simple mix-up, my 'kit' came with the correct screws.
