There is a recent thread on this topic as a few of us installed new tops over the last year or so.
The Fisher Body manual has some tidbits in it that I used. Its intimidating because there is a lot going on, but its not too bad if your patient. Who's top did you buy?

In the 60's , there were 2 companies in the USA that made these roofs .
Came across other info on big body Pontiacs/GM Cars in a thread in The Lobby on this forum a few weeks ago about these tops.

Most intriguing things i can recall seeing .
Amazed at the quality and fitment , and that any company went to such an extreme for making such a product. Very exclusive and likely very expensive.
Very few examples still exist today - i would bet.

Removal of the soft top/mechanisms was not required at all.

Bringing my post back to life.. finally we are thinking on installing the new convertible top structure, and it doesnt seem like an easy task.
Any one has a manual, instructions, or tops for dummies info that might be willing to share?
Your 66 Convertible could probably lend some help on most of the basic installation and mounting.

Hey Baron, nice to "read" from you again...
I was searching this forum (up to 2 seconds ago) as 68ragtop recommended, and saw many of your posts, funny you just posted here.

66 is not in the same place the 69 is now, and will be hard to have them both side by side as to reference.. but it is a good staring point indeed.

Regarding the top... I thought and still think the roof was made by full Chilean ingenuity.. but... any way we can check on the ones you mention? any pics?

I will search back into The Lobby later tonight and find that thread on the roofs.

Think you possibly may have an historical artifact versus a 1-Off Chile creation.
its interesting

I'm always on-again/off-again on the forum from time to times.
Good luck with the soft top !
There were soft top manuals from GM , but i have never viewed one to know the contents.

This is the link to thread in the Lobby about other Fglass hardtops for Convertibles.
I posted in it about yours, and put the 2 pics there.

If you could supply more clear photos of yours at some time [inside and out] -
might could start drawing in some other folks who might have further info.
