Default 1955 hood

How do you remove the 2 chrome strips down the center of a 1955 Chieftain hood?

There are inserts that hold the trim on from underside the hood. They need turned 90 degrees and will come out.

Thanks. They just crumbled when I turned them.

I doubt you can find them, I would go to how like the 56 hood trim is attatched if you can make some pieces to work . With an insert in the hood trim with studs on it than just have a nut on the bottom side. Check with a local body shop they may be able to find something that will work.

Thats about how I figured on mounting them. I was going to braze short screws to the cross pieces and drill the hood so I could use nuts.
