What kind of car is it?
Firebird/Camaro?

Appears to be around a 1974 Camaro/Firebird almost but has wrong sequences.

As far as I know there is no 'Q' in any VIN sequences for Pontiac.

The 1st '1' would suggest a Camaro, possibly the 'Q' is a Camaro letter?
87 is the Fbody sequence
H is engine, possibly 350 (in 1975 anyway)
4 is the year - 1974
N - Norwood (Fbody)
last 6 digits sequential number of VIN

John this is a weird animal. Looks Firebird. Vin sequence on plate matches firewall stamps. Let me post pics of car and cowl tag.

I'd say it's a Re-VIN'd car?

The 'Q' was used for the Camaro.
So the VIN is a 1974 Camaro, car looks like a 79/80 Bird?

What does title say?

Just looked at the cowl tag, it looks like a 81 Bird?
(also made at Lordstown?)

I'd be a little leary of that car?
(stolen?)

The VIN tag has the Q, which is a Camaro, the '4' is the year.
1974 Camaro VIN.

The cowl tag is a 1981, made in Lordstown.
(the VIN is a Norwood made car)

Also had T-tops. (from cowl tag, who knows which is original if any)

Also, The part where I said Lordstown, it should be Van Nuys.

the two firewall stamps match the vin plate. all looks factory. firebird rear end. weird car. my best guess is cowl and firewall patched into firebird chassis. this has to rank in my top ten weirdest finds.

Where is that vin tag? The ones on my cars look like stamped steel riveted to the dash. That one looks like it is cast.

It’s the correct stamped steel vin plate in the correct vin plate cutout w the factory gm rosettes. I still haven’t looked car over good but beginning to suspect 74 camaro chassis with 79-81 Firebird tail panel and 78-81 fisher roof. These cars never cease to amaze me.

There’s no front clip. Rust free. I bought it cause the fisher tops are immaculate and it has all the t-top plastic garnish which I can never find

For using as a parts car, no problem I see.

Is the rear window curved around roof or squarish?

It’s the 75 up window John which along w different lower rear quarters on 74 would mean pretty serious modification but so is a firewall transplant in my opinion so pick ur poison lol

The Camaro quarter panels and doors are different from a Firebird. Unless someone took the time to replace all that steel, I'm assuming its a Camaro VIN on a Firebird body. Not that its an issue seeing how its a parts car.

Also, I believe the rivets for the VIN came from the top down, not from the bottom up. It looks like yours have the rosette part facing down, which I think is incorrect? I need to look at mine now.

72, I’ve seen lotsa firewall stamps and these look legit. When a car is number swapped these will typically be ignored or obliterated
