I have no experience with the swap, but if you're keeping the original shift lever can you just adjust the position of the original neutral switch?

What trans was in it previously? Did you keep the column shifter or move it to the floor?

Stock trans should be Jetaway (super hydro). The neutral & park positions on the turbo 400 are different than on the super hydro. Column shift.

Yes, the super hydro is PNDLR and the TH400 is PRNDL, but the neutral positions aren't that far away from each other - that's why I was wondering if the switch position could simply be adjusted, or perhaps modify the mounting bracket to rotate it around a little.

Park should work on either one. You may find that the 400 will also start in reverse.

I bought my neutral safety switch for a 66 and up floor shift to swap a slim Jim to a 2004r. Not sure how the column shift differs

Ok here I can help. I used a 64 Buick neutral safety switch to convert my 61 Safari to a T400 detent. However I could not find anything to convert the indicator on the column. I can get the part number of the box if you need it. At least the back up lights are actually in reverse now. Its been a couple years so I cant remember if I had to swap any wires around but I dont think so
