Default Spring perches

I have a question or concern seems as if the spring perches on my 65 Catalina are off set, the passenger side is level and the drivers side tweaked down a little. I this normal or car I heat up the spring perch and hammer it into place. One guy said I twisted the axel. I am like that is impossible. Again this is a posi rear end.

It's not impossible at all if the axle tube spot welds are broken. The axle tubes can twist inside of the center carrier section and one spring seat could be further down than the other.

It usually happens on F and A bodies stick shift cars that someone is dumping the clutch and they shear the spot welds. It can also happen on 4X4 trucks from jumping them off the ground.

Verify that the axle tube welds aren't broken where they attach to the cast center section, then move on from there in finding the problem.
