Frozen - not the movie! Swap meet AFB secondaries stuck
So, in addition to meeting several of the great folks from the big car community at Norwalk, I snatched a 4034S AFB off a table for a price so good I couldn't even haggle.
Got it back to the bench to check it out. After repeated shots of PB Blaster (for the carb, not me) the primaries and choke piston came loose, and have very little if any slop. Secondary butterflies are a different story - there was some moisture at one point and they appear to be stuck fast. I resisted the urge to apply the Ford tool Open to any ideas for knocking it loose (gently) it is soaked in penetrating oil now. |
