1968 GTO Ram Air
How do you tell if a 1968 GTO Ram Air Hood pan is aftermarket or original? Do they stamp part numbers in these?

My original pan did not have a part number stamped on it anywhere I could find.

Then maybe its not original? I dont know about you but GM seemed to punch numbers on everything. Maybe your looking in the wrong area?

There are no numbers on original top or bottom pans.
You will have a hard time telling the difference between aftermarket and original top plate from the shape and material. The steel repro came out in 2001 and there has only been one maker so if it is older, it would have to be original. Most originals also have pit marks where the large foam seal goes from use.
