They say its had some paintwork touch-up here and there

Worst thing i see is the fender extractor screen is RED - that yells repaint on the whole car usually. Those stay Black regardless color of the car.
It needs close examining but i wouldn't expect it to be an original paint / original decal car.
Which isn't a deal breaker - but also not creme de la creme on a 32k mile car.

No real dire need for PHS , these cars document themselves via VIN and Cowl Tag and cross-reference stamped Codes/VIN's on drivetrain.
Should hopefully have all the original paperworks from original purchaser.
Should be a buildsheet in one of the back seat cushions too

It looks like the console and radio and Eagle were about the only options.
There was also just a "radio accomadation" package back then.
I'm not fluent on 77's but the 15x7 Flakes may have been a no-cost alternate against Rally2.
Compact spare was sometimes a no-cost alternate against full-size spare.

i think it will see at least mid-20's on the eBay auction.
This auction could be your best chance at a better price - as a bidder.
Could also be your worst scenario as a buyer if it starts going nuclear at the end with a couple heavy hot bidders.
Would just ride it out and see where it lands - unless you really really love that color package.
In that case - you need to go ASAP and make your judgements

I have a T-tops black car his name is BURT. still being buttoned up with things we found wrong when we bought him.

Pretty unique to still have the 2-1-2-4 exhaust system

If i were being microscopic on the white-glove inspection , the pictures lead to believe the driver door and maybe driver fender have been replaced at some point.

The bottom inner edge of driver door is refinish paint
bottom of passenger door is factory paint

It could be the passenger fender screen is still black, it isn't shown

I’m writing all of these observations down and will address them to the Sales person upon inspection. I appreciate any and all help.

Thank you!

The Classic Auto Mall is a great place to visit. It's a huge mall that was converted into an enjoyable car shopping experience - consignment only. They have all kinds of cars from Ferrari's to Fiero's. it's a great place to visit even if you are not ready to buy anything yet. We spent 3 hours there and easily could have stayed longer. If you are coming in from out of town, there's a hotel directly in front of it. It's definitely worth the drive to see the most cars for sale in one spot.

We have been there many times it’s FREE to enter, and the people are amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. About an hour from our home, the hours are kind of quirky only open to 1:00 on a Saturday, closed Sundays. But if anyone gets a chance to visit it, it is a very awesome place. Not everything is for sale, but the cars that are do seem a bit on the high side. Not sure how easy they are to haggle with. Guess I’ll find out if the answers to our list of questions and concerns are worth an offer on this one.

The Ebay listing and fairly low hammer price actually gives you a nice "real world" data point to use as a bargaining chip in negotiating a lower price.

I still really like the car. Only thing that would make it better is T tops. Looking at the bottom the car is definitely not a rust bucket- especially for something up north. I put the car at a pretty easy 25k. I can’t see how anyone would sell that car for high teens.

I had a 75 PHS low miles car, that I actually bought from a member here but it was not my dream car, and it actually went to another member here on the board in Florida. My dream car is the Bandit TA, and now I have one. I knew if I survived Leukemia I would have one. Now I do. this red car would make a nice sleigh for Christmas but ONLY if it passes a complete and full inspection. There are others at this place as well so who knows.

I had a few communications with 67 droptop, we are both Christ believers. He was tickled to buy your 75, as a fill in to when he got hos 67 completed. I have not seen him post here for some time.

I like the idea of Santa's sleigh!!! Or you could name him for Jerry Reed!!! Burt and Jerry!!!

oh Shet , LoL
i thought it was still a live auction on eBay

All things considered i agree with 1965gp's comment
I wouldn't sell that car at that hammer price - or even close

We all like various types of things
I'm a No T-Top kinda guy on theses cars.
Since its Non-AC 4spd, i like it being low optioned too

There were so many Black 77-78 TA's running around my town back in the day that i just never wanted a black one, at all.

67 droptop I couldn’t remember his handle here. I know he has since sold that TA, and he even offered it back to me first. That was a nice one and I was happy that he and his Wife loved it just as much as I did. I like your idea of Jerry Reed I name my cars, and my friends cars. Like Troy Tribby a member here his big black Pontiac is named Black Beauty. My friends 65 Mustang is named Sally. Another friends 64 GTO is named Tripp’s as it has Tripp’s on it. Might sound silly to the guys here, but that’s just me being me. loving life after nearly losing it.

I think it’s pretty damn nice. Problem I have with real nice old cars like that is you’re scared to park them anywhere as there’s always an idiot who will park right next to you even if you park 5 spaces out from the nearest car.

I’ve been showing cars since 1994, I never take my classics to public parking lots. I worry more actually driving it that someone might rear end me or run a light or stop sign. I do not trailer my cars, I drive them, and very proud of the restorations we’ve done over the years. The 69 in my Avatar took 13 years to restore. I guess if you have to worry that much you need another hobby lol.

Most shows I’ve been to were in a public parking lot.
Been in the hobby for years, I prefer running my T/A hard in the turns and not worrying about chipping up the paint.

Just a couple of questions after viewing the Ebay photos:
1. Were catalytic converters required on 77 Pontiac Trans Ams ?
2. Is the front valence metal or plastic on 77 Trans Ams? This one appears broken at one attachment point.

With few exceptions (except a diesel like a Mercedes or VW in that era) I thought they were required on almost all cars beginning in 1975.

Those test tubes were fairly cheap to buy back then, few converters ever got re-installed though. if it's just got a test tube on it, that would be nice. My car has had a home made test tube since about the 20,000 mile mark. It didn't seem to run any better without the converter, or sound much different...

If I had the desire and $$$ AND the car passes all the rust tests, I'd consider it mine...The things wrong, as seen by keen eyes here are pretty petty things. I hate those stupid headliners!!!
