Condensor Question

Is the distributor condensor (inside the distributor) the same part that would also mount to the coil bracket and be hooked to the coil? When I pulled the condensor (mounted to coil bracket) wire from the coil it was hooked to the negative side of the coil with the tach and distributor wire. Is this correct? Thanks for the help.
