Different Size Instrument Light Sockets?
I'm looking to replace my sockets with new oneson my 72 Lemans, and I haven't pulled the dash yet. I want to get stuff together first, but on Ames I'm seeing two different size sockets for the bulbs. I see a 5/8th and a 1/2. Which one is it?

Due to the "fasten seat belt" warning lamp on all '72 GM cars, your car takes both sizes.
Can you post here and tell me if your gauges are the standard version (with red warning lamps) or are they rally gauges? Each version takes a different number of the larger sized sockets.

dash light bulbs
The brake lamp warning and the fasten seat belt lights take the smaller sized sockets. All of the rest of the dash lights use the bigger sockets. They both accept the newer style push in light bulbs: #194.
