While we are waiting to see if anyone has photos, I'll just say that the return line on my car was off the fuel pump and a solid 3/8" steel line ran from the fuel pump to the Quadrajet. Only filter in mine was in the Quadrajet. My neighbor back in 1967 had the standard GTO engine and the fuel line to the carburetor looked the same. Both cars were Fremont builds. I've seen photos of the vapor return fuel filter in the line, but never saw one out on the west coast.

Both of those would have been later builds. The early return came off the fuel filter, while the later style return was down on the pump.

Default '67 HO Fuel line

I understand there were 2 different fuel/return line configurations. The "early" arrangement utilized a canister filter attached near the water neck with a return line down to the pump. The "later" arrangement used a single line up to the carb with a return line from the pump back to the tank. My '67 HO (Fremont car) was built in May '67 and has the single line up to the carb. I'll look for any photos.

Default '67 HO Fuel line

Here's a few photos that show the fuel line up high. I don't have any near the pump.

Mine were 02C and 05B Fremont builds so even my earliest was half way through the model year.

I notice that there were also some very good photos from 428HO4spd's thread: here

I'm no help regarding early or late, or date breaks, or plant variances -
but here is this HO picture.

Here are a couple original pics where you can see the filter and lines. The one BVZ posted is very accurate.

My December 1966 built Baltimore car has this exact set-up. It's a base engine car with the HD cooling package. The return line works wonders with today's gas. No vapor lock issues at all, even in 110 degree temps.

My (HD cooling) January 1967 Baltimore car was equipped with the same filter set-up. FWIW, the engine pictured with Inline Tube over written has the 335 HP air cleaner, not the HO set up.
But it also has the wrong hinge to fender bolts (washers too large) and wrong threaded clips at the two vertical inner fender to fender attachment points.

Spark plug wire retainer is wrong too. 64-67 had a VERY noticeable separation of 5 and 7.

400 4spd.

Not just those, but there is a little more mix and match going on in this engine bay.

The exhaust manifolds are HO, plus it has the wire harness used on an HO with the starter wires running up the valve cover and down the front of cylinder head.

The “3” lines with the fuel filter canister went as far as March 67 build.
Somewhere after that they switched to the single fuel line with the bronze filter in the front of carb inlet.

Chris.
