Question on Borg Warner T-85 3 speed heavy Duty transmission
I have a couple questions about the Borg Warner 3 speed heavy duty transmission. I have one I bought from a 63 Bonneville convertible for install in my 64 catalina but the catalina wound up being too far gone for me to save so I find myself no longer needing this transmission. I also have the 3 on the tree heavy duty linkages for this setup as well.
What I am wondering is what years did Pontiac use this transmission and will the linkages work in any other years. I know the 63 super duty used the t-85 but that's all the info I could find on line. I would like to have enough information to properly list this transmission and also be able to answer any question prospective buyers may have. I do know its non overdrive and that first gear is non syncro. I know basic info on transmission, just looking for interchange and how common this setup was. Thanks in advance. |

Trans
My 61 Bonneville came with one. They were use in other brands of cars also, it is a very strong transmission. I would like to buy your linkage as I can’t find mine. I do have the original hurst flor. Shifter that Pontiac sold over the counter but am trying to return the car to original. Send me a photo of linkage to my email at huskydogluv@yahoo.com if interested. Thanks, Mike

Hurst floor shift for Borg Warner T85.
Here is one of the kits Hurst used to sell (and you could have that installed at any Pontiac dealership) for Big car Pontiacs.
It's for sale if anybody can use it.
