Default Dangling Wire ?

was under rear end yesterday when I found this guy. assuming it's from fuel sending unit. anyone recognize? fuel gauge works fine btw.

I'm thinking ground ? wonder why fuel gauge would be working if ground wasn't attached

Yep, that's what it looks like. Gauge could be finding a ground through the tank somehow ... if a strap isn't fully padded, or filler neck touching metal etc.

Looks like that's the frame ground end of the wire hanging, if you can see where it attached to the frame put a new connector on it and reattach to the frame.

ah ok .. even tho it's dangling at front side of tank .. idea is it goes over top of tank and grounds at vent clamp?

car's been home, in pieces, since June and it's basically been my full time (day) gig. she's rolling down the road (stealthily around the neighborhood) for first time since 95'.
finally seeing light at the end of tunnel.

pretty sure I can have everything at least hung before the cold.

The other end is soldered to the tank sending unit.
