OHC 6 motor for sale.
I posted previously about this but I can't find it.
In a casual conversation with a non Pontiac guy a few weeks ago, he tells me he has a OHC 6, 4 barrel with three speed trans in his mothers garage, that he pulled from his 67 Lemans around 1985. That he hadn't seen the motor in a couple years. I don't know much about these motors but I told him I would be interested in buying it. He called me tonight. Apparently his crackhead brother sold the trans, the carb & the exhaust manifold. The rest of the motor is there but rough, with the oil pan rusted through. Pulleys are on it as is the valve cover and alternator. He's offered it to me for $75.00. I gotta drive about 80 miles round trip to get it. Is it worth the trip for the block & parts or is it a boat anchor? I'm thinking I ought to go get it.. |

If you can confirm it is a 4BC engine, the head would be worth that much.
If it had PS the bracket is worth that much. The cam maybe ? Accessory house with fuel pump and Dist if good are worth a few less. Crank, Harmonic Balancer and Rods might be ? He said exhaust man sold. but would assume both IN/EX mans are gone. If not the intake is worth that much. I would ask for #s off block and pictures if possible before venturing out.

You posted on 3/28/17 in the Street section. Again, if you pass on it, let me know where it is. I am interested in it.
