There were 2 69 GTOs that roamed Stanwood, Washington in the 70s and 80s. I bought one of them in 91 from original owner. The other was owned by a older lady who I approached in my 69 GTO shortly after purchase. I said to her nice car mamma, she yelled at me that it wasn't for sale? Told her I didn't want it cause I had one just like it. She looked back shook her head and carried on? Well I drove my heap to a local cruise in today and damned if the other GTO showed up. Haven't seen it since mid-90s? Asked the current owner if it came from Camano Island and he was shocked I knew that. Wanted to get a pic of the 2 side by side but there were so many cars.

Western Colorado Delta

Between Grand Junction and Montrose

May be the driest county in the US.

Thumbs up

Was at a small cruise-in yesterday afternoon and along comes this very worn 1969 GTO, after looking at it I knew I had seen this before.

This GTO belonged to a fellow Pontiacer and one of the founding members of our old Club. I have not seen this car since 1999/2000 at one of our annual shows.

Lyndy Hamm owned this '69 for a long time, he passed in 2019. I always wondered what came of it.

Glad to report it is his son who got it back out and running again.
Needs some love but man did it sound strong.

Hope to see more of it.

ID:	567420Yesterday my wife and I were out, in the rain, checking out back roads for an up-coming convertible road tour in the Wisconsin north woods. We had been down this road once before and I noticed a half dozen or so mid-fifties trucks next to the woods on the side of the road. When we went by yesterday I slowed to almost a stop and saw that there were more, maybe a hundred more!! These vehicles are right off of the roadway (a county road) with no fence. There is an area behind the tree-line that has a gate and no telling what is back there.
The vehicles seem to range from the 30s to 60s. The oldest I could identify was a Ford Model A and the newest being a Studebaker Hawk. I spotted at least 3 Pontiacs but there are probably more.
We will be back up there in the next couple of weeks and hopefully the weather will be better so I can snoop around a little.

That is pretty impressive. While I respect everyones right to do what they want with their time and money, these collections are head scratchers. We are seeing widows auctions on some of these collections now. The rust into the weeds ones are disturbing. At the price of steel alone there is a lot of dough sitting. Selling a collection like that is a multi year undertaking of frustration. I see why widows auction. Sorry, but unless someone is running a viable business with a plan, these things just look like hoarding mental illness to me.

There seem to be some that could be saved. That '54? Pontiac two door looked that way and one of the Hawks also. Some looked like a solid start for a street rod.
Next trip up I will check with some of the locals and see if I can find out just what the deal is. I'm sure that the "car guys" around there know what the story is. After all in is in plain view along a county road.

There actually is a sign out saying "Buzzy's OK Used cars. I think it is probably a sign that the guy found or bought at an auction. There is another sign saying Grand Garage, but it is very weathered and has no other info.
