Default Shifter Positioning

I installed a TKO600 in my '65, I have found a Hurst bar that could be adapted to the TKO but need the correct positioning of the bar.

Based on a stock 4-speed Hurst bar in neutral:
- what is the height from the tip of the bar to floor sheet metal
- what is the distance from the tip to a measuring point on the dash

I will adapt the bar/mount to match.

Thanks for help!

What is a shift bar? I know of shift rods and shifter handles. Never heard of a 'Hurst Bar'.

My GUESS (no real knowledge) is a T handle on the top of a Hurst shifter.

OK , correct names for "Hurst" shifters- according to "Hurst"
Arms= brackets that are bolted to side of trans ,That the RODS, 1st + 2nd. And 3rd + 4th, are mounted in with bushing and spring clip.
Handle= the chrome stick with Hurst logo.
Then there are T handles and balls

Dave,
Not for nothin'..... but I'm honestly looking for the measurements.
Just turned 74, to correct all my improper and idiosyncratic grammer would take an entire forum....... nevertheless you are correct.
So how about it?

All in jest......

(LOL)

Tone,
from the front edge of my shifter ball to the very bottom of the dash is 7"

From the top of the ball (original ball) to the top of the carpet in front of the passenger seat (center of seat) is 18 1/4 "

Our car is a 64 GTO with its original Hurst shifter. Measurements can be seen in the photos. When the handle is further forward that is 1st gear, when the handle is further rearward that is 2nd gear.
