Yeah, nothing turns me off more than seeing a car that didn't sell re-listed for $1-2k MORE a few days later. Shows me either the seller is playing games or completely clueless.

First auction was deadbeat /fake bidder. Second auction I won for $7k.Thanks muscle collector for bringing this to my attention. It's not a Bonne wagon but it should be fun. I'm going to put some Rally II wheels on it , does anyone have a really nice set for sale?

Congrats! Rally 2 wheels and blackwall tires will make a big difference in the looks department - at least they did on mine.

There is a big engine Pontiac full-size wagon registry out there somewhere. These big engine wagons are getting more desirable as more are lost or getting sold overseas.

I know a '70 Yellow/Beige 400 Ventura wagon for sale. The guy rescued it from the crusher. I almost bought it but I like '69s better. ('70 front bumpers appear too Edsel-like for me) Come to think of it, I know of two '70 400 wagons for sale, although not as nice as this one. They are exactly the same as '69s except for the front end.

When do you pick it up?

Congratulations Todd - that's a cool car!

I've got several sets of rallys in nice shape with tires if you're interested.

You did good. 428, a recent paint job and power windows. Are you going to send away for PHS? I'm envious of the 428 side badges!

Thanks!! I wasn't planning on getting PHS, just a set of Rallys and a check-over and get ready to head to the beach next year!

I a glad to see some of these fine Safaris still together and getting some use. Best way to iprove mileage and perforance is to install an OD trans with conv lock up, a free flowing dual exhaust system and keep the engine tuned properly. Then , enjoy!
I have one tucked away for a furture build- Bonne 9 pass, loaded with reciever hitch, posi, pw, etc, etc. Was Warwick blue, will be Liberty blue. Also have a 69 Liberty blue Catalina Safari 9 pass parts car fairly well optioned and a gold Executive 9 pass, was 428, has posi, am-fm, tilt, etc buildert to sell.

'69 is one of my favotire years of Safaris.

Sorry Todd, I was thinking regular rally's - not the big car ones.

That's a perfect beach cruiser (and tow vehicle).

Todd, congrats on the cool buy! On the wheels, '69-71 B series wagons would have been optional with the small center 15x6 JY coded Rally II's. I used to run a set of JY's on my open car trailer. A tip to anyone buying that style of rally II's, be very careful, as so many early 5 on 5 rallys have wallowed out lugnut holes. heavy impact use on the 1/2" thread lugnuts seemed to have done many more in than the smaller bolt pattern versions.

Checking out the auction brought back memories. Up until late '75, my parents had a 6 passenger '69 Exec Safari wagon with 428, T400, A/C & opt ratio Safe-T-Track. Midnight green/ woodgrain, limelight green roof, green vinyl interior & was ordered w factory wire wheel covers. Zone rep drove it for two months before dad got the keys. Lot of cool memories riding all over the West with our Williamscraft camping trailer in tow.

Pontiac never made a Ventura in a wagon ( Safari ).

The most reasonable answer I can see is that the 428 was an option on the Executive and Catalina. Standard on the Bonneville ( 1969 ).

I also like the 428 emblems on the fenders and think the Bonnes go robbed on that deal though.

Congrats on your purchase. I hope you enjoy it and keep her for a long time.

Thanks again for all the encouragement! I think the 69 is the leanest looking of the big cars. The hurst wheel idea is interesting but I think the Rally II is my choice. Anyone have a set of really sweet and straight JY wheels?

That is what I thought too, until I saw this one. Maybe it is a mix-match of parts.
I have never heard or seen of one either.

Gary, Were your's JJ's by the valve stem? Know 68's used the JJ's.
Will ck my wheel stacks for dates & ID codes on all small center 15x6's.
