I just found a 70 firebird esprit. Not a very cool story but it popped up on marketplace late on a Monday night. I messaged him right away. He had one guy in front of me on Tuesday morning, the first guy passed hemming and hawwing. I left work early at like 11am and went to look at it. My buddy met me there and got there before me. He looked me square in the eye and said "your buying this" LOL. It was a local towing company that got it that had done service on the car in the 70's and 80's. The car has been sitting since 1996 in a garage about 5 miles from me. It is castillian bronze with custom sandelwood interior and a 350 two barrel auto car with AC, power steering but no power brakes! I'm gonna keep this one a while for sure. There is some bad rot in the pass 1/4 but thats really the only real bad spot. So that will get fixed shortly. I replaced the gas tank and squared away the fuel system last saturday and put new master and brakes in the front and flushed the braking system yesterday. In about an hour I am going to take it out.

How about an aircraft hangar find?
'69 RAIII 4 sp Carousel Red Judge. No engine or trans. I bought it out of north Texas (Lubbock?) in 2006 or so. Guy responded to an ad I placed online looking for muscle cars. I was in Virginia at the time, but he wouldn't send pics. Said I could have it for $5k, but if he had to take pics it was going on eBay and I could bid on it just like anyone else. I rolled the dice and send him $. Picked it up a few months later. Eventually sold it to someone who restored it. It's back on the road now.

Some years back I was on the hunt for a 70 Challenger somewhere North of Tucson. My uncle had spotted it on a rancher's property, and we drove out there to see if it was available. Turns out the rancher had sold it before I was able to get there.
My uncle then wanted to run by a salvage yard to get some parts for one of his cars. When we pulled up into the parking area, I saw a black 67 GTO sitting off to the side (dusty, front tire flat). It kind of caught my eye, so I went and chatted with the owner of the salvage yard. She told me the GTO was her personal car, and not for sale. Cool, so we chatted cars for a bit and then my uncle and I left. Over the next few months, my uncle would go by that same salvage yard, getting whatever parts he needed, and would always chat with the owner. 6 months later, she said, "Tell your nephew if he wants the GTO, he needs to come get it this weekend." Turns out, she was selling the business and moving out of AZ. I quickly borrowed a trailer and went over, and worked out a deal with her. As I was about to pull the GTO onto the trailer, she came out of the house with a diecast model of a 66 GTO, and set it on the passenger seat. She said, "If I can't have a real one, I don't want the model, either." She then started to tear up and went back into the house. My wife said to me, "How does it feel to make a woman cry?" Well, crap. The attached pictures of the black GTO is the day I first saw it. The second picture is with it done (color is Black Cherry, and was a cloudy day when I took the picture so doesn't really show how the color pops)
