You can try snugging it down but be gentle. Those pins are fragile and can break right off.

Thanks Chief, it’s a crappy system, yes the pins should be metal, not plastic……..
Maybe I’ll try electrical tape on the pin and see if that nut holds better. |

I wonder if some of the black strip caulk would help snug it down without breaking the pin. Either way, let us know how things work out.

If it does break off you can epoxy on something like an "elevator bolt" instead.
