69 disc brakes
I know a guy who wants to put front disc brakes on his 69 Cat.
What are his options ?

Single piston caliper late '68 -70 Pontiac B series disc spindles/calipers/rotors are out there, not sure what the availability of new rotors is for them today.

Yup, 69 -70 front spindles. And yes, I think it will hard and expensive to find rotors. Believe Scarebird has a kit?

sorry -we do not anymore.
They were extremely slow sellers and required different components than the earlier kits. |

Check with Master Power. I believe they have a kit that will work. It's pricey($1800) and requires the use of 17" wheels. OE rotors and calipers are still available through RockAuto(Raybestos parts). He might want contact Steve Snyder @ CO Pontiacs, Frank's Pontiac Parts or Steve Barrack(Pontiac Heaven) to see if either of them have a '69 or '70 with the complete system still in place.

Best thing you can hope for is finding a late '68-70 B body with disc brakes in good shape that is getting parted or junked. |

CPR sells rotors for the '67/'68 cars. Not cheap!

I am so glad I bought a couple NOS rotors years ago when they were still available and not ridiculously expensive for my 70 Bonneville.

In 1977+ I know the 4.75" on 5 bolt pattern was the standard and only heavy duty suspension cars got 5" on 5, making finding brakes for them an exercise in fun. |

i dont really think 400 for a pair of rotors is expensive...the ones from CPR
i paid $278 a piece for my CTS-V to put it in perspective

I actually agree! Compared to the cheap $50 chinesium rotors on ebay, I would gladly pay for NOS rotors. Luckily I also stockpiled a bunch years ago when I found a stash for sale from a closed parts house in NE PA.
