Default 1965 GTO tail panel bezel

Got a catalog in the mail from OPGYN, not sure why never bought anything from them. I ran across a 65 GTO tail bezel for $969.00 Starting wondering if this is the same crappy part sold by parts place with a $400.00 mark up. The salesman didn't know much but said it was not the same as this is a new repo and they have not got any in yet. Then he proceeded to tell me there has been a price increase and they are now going to be $1700.00 He did not know when they would get any but would take pre orders and that he already had some. [Not likely] So can Chris or Ames tell us has there been any progress on making these? You sure would make a lot of 65 owners very happy.

Check with Ames! They will have a better price and know if the part is even available. It hasn't been for the longest time.

I bought 1 from The parts place. Drove up there (free fuel) and bought a 1/4 panel, back glass and a vinyl top. They are not perfect but looks better than mine. And got to look at before I bought it. My old 1 weighs 4 1/4 lbs. The new 1 weighs 2 3/4 lbs. Imagine that!
Now I have to buy the tail light bezels to match. TPP only sells the plastic ones. I was afraid the mounting stems would be subject to breakage ?
