Electronic Tach Help
The tach in my '79 T/A does not work. I have power to both of the plug wires on the back of the tach but the tach does nothing. Is the tach dead or is there another wire (ground perhaps) that I am overlooking? Is there another way to test the tach?
Thanks

There is no in line fuse in mine. I put a test light on the plug at the back of the tach and it has power. Any other ideas? Thanks.

check to see if the other wire on the tach makes it all the way out to the tach plug on your distributor cap with no breaks. If both wires are good it almost has to be a bad tach.

Should be a brown wire plugged into the H.E.I. tach terminal. Check the continuity from the distributer all the way back to the tach.

If the GND were bad it would be pegged. Ask me how I discovered that...
