68 endura bumper w/hidden headlights
Have hidden headlights and noticed the bumper align is off more than before.
Checked the top front of the bumper and found one of the bolts were stripped. Supposed to be carriage bolts where it attaches to the bracket by the top of the core support. This is the frame extension piece. My question is does the top of this bracket use carriage bolts with the serrated washers or just plain washers?. I believe the bolts that attach this bracket to the frame use the serrated washers to keep it from moving. Who carries the top carriage bolts? Might end up taking bumper off to make sure rest of hardware is correct. |

Mine just has regular split lock washers. I can't say that they are original though. I do have serrated washers where the bumper supports connect to the frame horns. Same for the rear bumper.

Thanks Greg. So basically is all of the adjustment on the endura bumper just on the frame horns where it connects to the frame? From what I've seen by looking at diagrams everything else appears to bolt up and be stationary.

Are you talking about bolt #2 in the diagram below? If so it is part number 9427908 (7/16-14 x 1 1/4) in second photo. Its mated to a flat washer and 7/16 split washer then nut.

Yes that's the one, carriage bolt. I see in the ad that AMK carries them but min order $30.

Local hardware store maybe the cheapest/fastest? Pretty standard in just a zinc coating. Maybe McMaster if you're after a grade 5 or something. Nice thing is AMK gives you all the details to narrow your search.
