Default 68 HO question

Is the 360 hp rating accurate or close? If my engine hasn’t been rebuilt what could I assume it puts out?

Good question ... don't think I've ever seen dyno numbers for absolutely stock engines compared to factory specs.

Many years ago MCR dynoed a fresh 400 with #48 heads and the 068 cam and it made 370 hp. The 68 HO is pretty much the same engine except #16 heads which flow about the same.

Oh ok. So it’s somewhat right.

I don’t have any modifications so I guess I’ll figure on about that if asked.

16 heads, I think 068 cam you mentioned and carb is stock 7028267 if I recall. The only think I think I might do is put a pertronix in it.
