Not a first gen, but a very highly optioned 68 GTO convert. Is it rough... for sure. Is it complete... meh. Numbers matching... no. Cool ... 100%. I could see a car like this being used for a body swap with a Lemans. NR $4500 in Florida. Worth the NR IMO.

Here's a no reserve 74 Firebird with a 4-speed. 350 car with a light restomod. Currently sitting at $6K. I like the redlines on the mags... haven't seen that before.

I've always liked that short Camaro spoiler, first time I've seen one of a 2nd gen Firebird.
Except for the engine color, I do like the car.

Sort of what it might have looked like if they didn't have to meet the 5mph bumper laws?

So this is a 75 Formula.

This is a 74 Formula.

It is just fiberglass, so I suspect they just fiberglassed over the front bumper and used paint to dissuade the eye. It works. I too like the spoiler. Does anyone know what the spoiler on this car came from?

1968 Bonneville convertible with a 428 4-speed and red interior. Also has an 8-track and some rust. This is a nice car and good deal for $5200 Buy-it-Now. Located in Wisconsin.

I looked up the block code on this car (WG) and it is coded for 428 4-bolt main 375 HP engine. That alone is worth the asking price for the entire car.

I think it is a 2nd gen Camaro,1970. I don't think the first gen Camaro spoiler would follow the body line of the second gens.

I just re-read your post and realized that is exactly what you said.

Do you honestly feel a WG motor is worth $5,200 come on let's get real WG Motors are for sale all the time for maybe what 2500 bucks if that... your book is wrong a WG motor is the more generic 360 horse motor... this car is a nightmare you're going to put another 50 Grand in it and then maybe get 30 out of it when it's done maybe if that's really what you want it's fine and dandy but to say that it's a great deal is really outrageous and to say that the motor is worth 5200 bucks is out of line in my honest opinion

A 68 WG is a manual trans 428 non-HO rated at 375 horse. Basically it is a twin of the HO less the long branch. It would have the 16 heads, 4 bolt mains, 067 cam and chrome dress up.

In 69 the non HO big car 428 got downgraded to 360 horse and it lost the chrome dress kit. Automatic versions also switched to small valve heads and 2 bolt mains. However the manual trans version (still WG) retained all the mechanical specs of the 68 (4 bolt, big valves, 067 etc).

Anyhow that engine is worth $1,500-2,500. That being said the car is still worth more than that. To me the body is junk but the combination of the engine, tranny and likely safettrack rear is worth $3-4,000.

If I owned a 68 full-size with a typical 400 2 bbl I’d buy the car to get the power train and a bunch of other bits.

You're right in that the engine isn't worth that much, but what I meant was the drivetrain. Not sure if the shifter would work in a bench seat Lemans or bench seat Firebird, but even in a different big car the 4-speed can't be all that common.

This particular sighting is a train wreck. 1969 Firebird 4X4. You gotta ask yourself if the builder actually thought this would be a good idea?

As ugly as that car is, it would be just a bit less ugly if they stripped those stupid looking rocker panel ground effects off. Looks like a piece of 2x6 lumber nailed to the side and painted orange...and why not just put some off-road wheels and tires on it. At least it would be consistent.

That's a good point. As is, it's a very poor handling jacked up street car on chrome rims and street tires. If it at least had some 4 X 4 rims and tires it would serve a purpose... though I don't think the T/A hood and wing are gonna make it hug huge rocks. Agree with you too about the side, uh, whatever. Just remove it.
Not sayin' it's cool, or could be, but it could at least make sense. The side things look like they'd hit first.

70 GTO convert with everything wrong with it. Black with blue interior. Worth the $5K reserve IMO.

Looks to be a modern composite materials marvel.

Structural paint?
