Default '69 JUDGE question - Experts needed

Hello guys. I have a friend that is getting ready to purchase a carousel red '69 Judge. The interior appears to be gold in the pics. Did Pontiac make carousel red Judges with gold interior? I have never seen one. Thanks in advance

your friend needs to ask the seller for a build sheet to verify that it is indeed a Judge and then it can be determined just
what all the car came equipped with.

Get a PHS documentation for the car before purchasing.

Thanks guys. This is one of those situations where time isn't permitted . I told him the usual "72 72" paint codes, more than likely WS engine code on the block, open the trunk lid and see if it stays up, etc. he is planning on picking this up tomorrow, and is one state away or I'd go out and look at it.

He could have found out with probably just a phone call to PHS.
If you pay by card over the phone during business hours , he can usually tell you right then Yes or No on Judge , and it came with blah blah etc ...

then fax or email a scan of the invoice .
He could still try this early in the morning and might get lucky.

Or go through the online channel tonight , and have an email in the morning.
He will need PHS at some point anyhow.

Any available GTO color interior -could- be ordered.
Anything odd would probably get a triple check verification before they built it.

PHS has a rush job provision just for this sort of situation, where they can get you the basic information quickly for an additional fee.

Wouldn't the data plate be enough to show the interior?

252 would be gold buckets:

Most likely a fake
Btw,,,The trunk lid thing is fake too.
All u have to do is adjust the rods and the trunk will stay up. Cant figure out where this came from.

Car has parchment interior. It is dirty and sun faded from the desert heat. Thanks to those that chimed in. It's a real Ram Air III, 4 speed, A/C Carousel Red Judge.

I was able to get a PHS report on a Grand Prix by phone last week even though the web site said it was not doing them now. Jim said he was slammed with requests because everyone was home and had nothing better to to.They no longer send a printed report to you, just an email to print yourself.

Great news
Congrats to the new owner

Glad to hear the interior wasn't really gold.
Parchment can get pretty beat with age and sunburn.

Seems like there is one out there with Blue Interior & Blue Vinyl Top {Carousel Car}

I’ll have a look at my collection of PHS’s. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a CR car with anything other than black or parchment guts.

However there was a regular GTO here years ago with gold guts that someone painted CR. Believe it or not it looked good.

I have 312 PHS's of Judges with Carousel Red as the lower paint color (including 107 pattern cars).

All of them have a black or parchment interior except one that has a red interior. (this car was obviously not a pattern car)

pattern CR cars... 31 parchment buckets - 76 black buckets
non-pattern CR cars...63 parchment buckets - 149 black buckets- 1 red buckets - 2 black bench
non-judge CR cars... 8 parchment buckets - 7 black buckets

So no examples of blue, gold or green buckets or parchment bench in any of these CR Judges or even CR non-Judges.

Of course there are examples of every possible interior choice in the Judges that were not CR.
