8" Power Brake Booster for 1974 GTO
Originally asked this in the 71-77 Ventura board, but no replies. Maybe better luck here.
Would there be any problems, other than bending brake lines, with fitting this to a 74 GTO/Ventura? I need taller valve covers because of roller rockers and the clearance to the stock booster, as you know, is tight. https://www.amazon.com/Diaphragm-Pow.../dp/B01CGRQ6AM Stuart |

I took a look at InlineTube and even the Right Stuff Detailing disk brake components and conversion kits online. They don't seem to make anything specific to you car. (which is probably why you are looking at this universal piece). Maybe Nova is the same? I don't know the dimensions of the Ventura firewall, so it sounds like if you cant find out the bolt pattern, youll have to get in there and take a look. (booster bolt pattern 3 3/8" center to center in a square pattern according to that page). As far as the pedal connection side, how does it connect in stock form? A clevis and a pin? Looks like a threaded rod on the backside of the booster in the picture, no doubt helping to make it universal. Summit sells brake pedal rod extension kits to help make connecting that end to the stock pedal easier.

Does the 7 inch diameter booster have reduced performance?
I'll have to look at my linkage this weekend to see if additional hardware is needed to connect the pedal linkage to the threaded shift. Thanks |
