'57 & earlier engine paint
Who has a good source for the old, green engine paint?
I see that Hirsh lists it but Haz-mat shipping is a killer. |

This page has been around forever, but it doesn't have an alternative for the old green paint. http://www.pontiacpower.org/enginecolor.htm

Back in 1959 when I bought a '57 Tri-Power engine, the green paint from the local John Deere dealer worked for me.

Your just going to have to spend the money if you want the correct paint. I have used the duplicolor racing green on a flathead in a 41 Pontiac I had. It's darker than the pic shows because of the camera flash lightened it up some. As opposed to the correct color, also lighter with the camera flash

Bud, would you characterize that paint as being anywhere near the ballpark?
