Not sure why you are referring to PZ. Its not like I post there all the time and its not like I have not gotten into it with some there either.
I do not want to see Bill make it 3 in a row, so listening to you can not make it any worse.
Might make it better, who knows ? As long as it stays running, that is the hope.

Curious.

You must think someone just throwing it out there that 428s with iron heads and 265 cams make power to 8400RPM is "learning" ?
Here is the best advice I can give you. Find someone who knows a LOT about cams. Get them to dyno sim your exact combo and find a cam that makes its power in your 2 bolt, studded 455 block at 6500RPM or less.

So you feel excessive rpm is Bill’s issue?
Who makes cams and offers dyno sim of combos????

I shift at 6300, just tried differant shift points to see what it liked, please dont think your actually helping me with all your info. The latest was a block issue and had nothing to do with rpm.

Do you run a heads up class? We all know the answer is NO. So then what do those wins tell us about your engine building?

This thread is a perfect example why I don’t post much here anymore.

RPM is your friend when making power, doesn’t matter if it’s a SBC, BBC or a Pontiac. If you think I’m wrong, go watch record setting stock and super stock cars in NHRA.

Carry on.

Agree, When I was shifting my 421/433 combo's at 6100 the car would only run 10.50's. After some valve spring changes I shifted at 6800 and the car picked up 3 tenths and went 10.20's. Cam swap and more RPM (7200) car has been-- 9.85.

FACT. This one and most others with the same two or three cast members. A lot of people have migrated to Facebook groups not only from here but a bunch of automotive forums for the same reasons.

True, but you still get the guy saying you need a lifter bore brace with an 068 cam.

Facts spoken from a guy who constantly goes to the track with a pretty basic combo.

Followed a recommendation from Mike Davis and my car picked up. That is the kinda of stuff forums are for. Helping people with their car. But instead we mostly get guys hijacking posts and chest pounding. No wonder no one is ever on here anymore!
