Got it, thanks.

With your "10.8 range 124 mph" comment I went back and looked at a time slip with my 462 from 2003 that was close to that. My car did not 60-ft all that well but ran down track OK.
Race weight was about 3750 lbs if memory serves me right. 28-inch D.O.T. tire / TH400 / 3.73 gear / Huges 8-inch converter.

1.605 60-ft
4.5031 330'
6.952 1/8 ET
100.02 1/8 mph
9.0796 1000' ET
1/4- 10.88 ET
1/4- 124.28 mph

I will chime in. First off finally got to see TA man first time all yr. Great to chat Pontiacs. So besides the unorganized track staff it was a chance to get out, wasn't planning on running the car . I seen Ernie in the lanes as i was rolling in and thought lets just turn in and go.
This is my street set up. MPH was low but combination of filter set up and i did a little hick up on a second to 3 rd shift. It did hook , happy . 11:14
Second run was with no filter 11:12 123 spun 1:72 as the track was going away quick. I could tell i need more fuel/ thinner Rods... need some custom ones made. Need to source that out.
Race // run T-2 with a shaker built 4150 style carb. Best in the heat here 10:80 125.
This is a lengthy thread but TA man will figure this carb deal , then watch out . I must say he is the test guru.

I just went through the LM2 install, not sure what setup you have but pay particular attention to using the right RPM setting which in their doc can be a bit confusing for some options. Hit me up if you have any questions, glad to help.

Just got back from the track. I went to St Thomas Dragway again. Only got in 2 decent runs before the track got sketchy. First run 10.8802 at 127.13 (new best mph) with a 1.6293 60 ft (spun a few feet)Next run 10.9052 at 126.51...felt like I didn't spin but only a 1.6232 60ft..Last run the track was getting sketchy..spun really good with a 11.12 at 126.44 but won a race against a camaro that wanted to race me.
I didn't have my LM2 hooked up it arrived too late. It feels like the new carb has too much pump shot which the weird 60fts seem to show. The 2nd run should have been quicker but it wasn't. My theory is the engine goes too rich upon initial hit with full traction. Just need a bit of time to tune it. The best thing about the whole night is its the first time the car has ran 127mph plus.
I'm hoping to do a few more test days before the season is over.

I can tell I'm moving..the shutdown area is getting pretty short! The carb is also still box stock as delivered..all I did to it was take the bowls and metering blocks off..double check for anything not caught during assembly and reassembled. Set floats, set idle and idle mixture , set acc pumps and bolt it on.
It took a while to dial in the old carb...just need to find the sweet spot for shooter size and launch rpms. Plus I also have to find the optimum shift point.

Thanks..sometimes progress seems to go backwards for a while! I could start new threads all the time..but I like having one long thread.

Heading to Toronto Motorsports Park tommorow. I'm hoping to get at least 6 good runs in. I dropped the squirter size down quite a bit in the carb. Feels quicker and cleaner out of the hole... well at least on the street. If I get my 60fts back to the 1.55 range I'm hoping to see a 10.6 timeslip. I will also be logging the runs on the LM2 to help tune.

Well I made some progress even though it doesn't show with the slips. We ran into a very strong headwind all day which cut et and mph off. I did manage to drop the shooter size down on the carb and it picked up each time in the 60 foot.
The 60 foot is still off compared to the Holley 950HP. The mistake I made was leaving the Holley at home...I should have brought it for a back to back comparision to confirm that it is a carb issue and not something else going on.

Nice runs in an et killing headwind ......I always envy the low slung cars when it gets breezy ....Slows me waaaaaaaaaayyy down.....

Tough to get those “magic” days with a tail wind AND good air.

When I pulled into the track and saw the flags I knew I wasn't setting any et bests. Money was blowing away at the food booth lol..and my hood up would stay up without a prop rod.
