Yes it still feels tight,on the highway, the car settles into a nice 60/65 mph cruise, very easy to speed. At the track it feels good at the big end still pulling hard.A few guys last night were amazed how fast the car leaves...once they found out the rather mild convertor and gearing there were amazed.

10.50's I've thought about that..can it do it with the 950hp which only flows 830,little Torker 2,1 3/4 inch headers,3 inch exhaust, factory suspension with just 3 way CE's...maybe?

Just going from memory, slips are in the car..60 ft was 1.56? With a little slippage,1/8 was 6.9 with 100mph.

With my first roller motor and a 5000 stall was just doing that 1/8 time and mph but a little quicker 1.51 60 and only 10.90s @ 123 mph but much more gear too-really great with that mild combo.

He is moving right along. Impressive !

Looking at my 10.88 / 124.28 mph time slip with the previous 462 it had a 1.605 60-ft. On another trip to the track it was 1.598 60-ft with a tight 10-inch Continental converter. That engine on the dyno was 580 hp at 5800 rpm. This with a TH400 and 3.73 gears/ 28" tires. About 3750 or so race weight.

Stated-"TA Man, You have the specs of the OF 2.0 cam?"

"When the cam arrived I had to sign for it, open the tube with a secret code, the cam card had ink on it that disappeared after 5 minutes."

I'm pretty sure reading between the lines in that thread it can be figured out. But for right now it is still secret squirrel stuff...LOL

ta man - I've read pretty much everything you've posted about your car and combo in the threads here and all I can say is, "wow!"

A legitimate 10 second ride with freeway gears. That's kind of my dream too (though low 11s would be fine with me) but I always figured I'd need an OD tranny to make it happen. Now I'm thinking I can just leave my 3.23s in place and with the right 4" stroke build I should be able to accomplish my goals.

Thanks for the inspiration!

Keep in mind the transmission here is using a lower first gear ratio (not stock).

Yep. Like I said, I've read pretty much everything he's posted about his car/combo. I bet I could build a low-gear TH400 for a lot less than converting to OD.

TA Man first gear effective ratio is same as a standard t400 first gear and 3.42 rear gear.

It's not like it equivalent to a 3.73 or 4.10. It is an improvement but not huge. I'd wonder how the performance would be compromised without a low first gear?

I just arrived back home from the track. CNC showed up to do a few runs and talk Pontiacs.
It was a busy track day,I only ran twice I think Chris ran 4 or 5 times.First pass a 11.0441 at 124.65...I spun a bit and the engine was cold...but I cut a .0058 light. The second pass I had a better burnout and hooked pretty good and ran 10.8822 at 125.35...which I thought was pretty decent considering it was quite a bit warmer than the evening before.Chris ran in the other lane and ran a 12.2430 at 111.36 which is excellent for his combo. Friday night and Saturday night I was amazed at the amount of people who walked back to the car(s) to check them out.

Maybe a tenth max..all the gain comes in the 60ft ..I saw a bit of a loss a few years ago going from 3.42's to 3.08's in the 60 foot..

I know this car now would run 10's with a stock gear set it has enough power to lug it.
