Default Just a "simple" convertor change! Murphy's law strikes

After the first test runs on the IA/Camaro my data logging looked like the convertor was too tight. I had an A-1 loose 5000 stall one that worked pretty good in the old first E head roller motor I built. So figured we had it, so lets use it for a data point. Got the new lifts at the shop. Bought a cheap Harbor Freight tall tranny jack and tall jack stand. I had used AN easily disconnected tranny lines when I built it.
Swapped them in the 78 Trans Am a number of times.

Pull up to the shop to see the feral hogs had trenched right up to the shop!

Got the Camaro in the air-first slightly different thing was rear round subframe connectors were where we had to put the rear pickups. Seems stable but they are under the subframe rail.

Tranny shield made getting to bellhousing bolts difficult even with a long extension and wiggler.

When we have cold fronts like now when it drops 30 degrees in one day, then we get a warm front in the condensation in the shop has that white oxidation on anything aluminum. It is popping out from under the trans paint and really tightened up on the dowel on one side so getting tranny loose was a bitch. Then wiggled the dipstick out of the way.

G Force TH400 crossmember too big with the rear offset for the TH400 to slide out of the exhaust even thought the X was behind the transmission. Had to drop the exhaust. Then remembered why I was mad the exhaust guy forgot to put flanges at the back of the X to be able to drop the center section out. had to drop it at the hangers behind the mufflers. Still had to pull off the trans mount to clear.

Tranny popped off finally slid the convertor in and did notice the ears were not as thick. Bolted it all back up and convertor does not touch the SFI flex plate. Slide all the way back 0.220 all the way forward about 0.120. No hardened washers so had to leave that for another day this week.

Just a CSI shield. Goal is about where your car is in the Texas heat. Still way too much tuning to get there.

Yea Kubota, they had a good deal when I bought it. The WWII vet that owned my wife's previous barn was in the Pacific theater and would not ever own a Japanese car or tractor! The rear tires are filled with water to counter balance the front end loader. They get so much condensation looks like someone threw a 5 gallon bucket of water by them! A heater would be good so they do not drop in temp to have warm air condense on them but worry about any gas fumes lighting off a big heater.

Engine and transmission corner in front of tractor.
