I had a Lunati Voo Doo 703 cam with key cut in wrong spot.
9-key chain was able to position it right when degreed

Comp Cams has had their "off the shelf" cams ground over seas for quite a few years.... They have become the Wal-Mart of valvetrain companies.

Lunati is owned by the same investment group that owns Competition Cams.

Interesting.... I know Cranes business strategy is "have nothing on the shelf". Lunati and Crane used to be great companies ran by real car guys.

Guess it is worth having a custom cam. Tim at Bullet is a good guy.

Mistakes can be made by any company. Years ago I ordered a Ultradyne MSP solid roller from Bullet Racing Cams with a lobe number listed with 255 degrees duration. After checking it we found it was closer to 257 degrees. Apparently they did not accommodate for the Pontiac journal size during grinding. They offered to make good at no charge. I declined as it was already installed.

X2 on Tim Goolsby at Bullet/Ultradyne. Had my first serious custom Pontiac cam ground by Ultradyne after consultations with Tim and Harold Brookshire. It was for a specific NMCA class that had a minimum vacuum rule @1000 RPM. This cam made 19" of vacuum at 1000 RPM and gobs of power everywhere. About 40 more HP than the Comp Cam shelf bump stick we were running. That's when at a young age I learned the value of custom cams and smart people designing them for your application.
