Please document where I ever said that GM's don't break.

I'm not holding my breath.

As to being a proven idiot...

Aren't you the one that after looking at a photo of a car that had brand new tires put on 60 minutes before the photo was taken - claimed that the car had alignment problems?

Yes, you were.

Two years later, same car, same tires and the tread wear is even side to side on both front tires.

I rest my case.

Won’t be long before our old stock muscle will start getting beat in the quarter mile or zero to sixty by the battery powered electric vehicles.

Chief of the 60s and Champ - can you two start your own thread devoted to insulting each other, so you don't have to do it in every other discussion? It's pretty tiresome for the rest of us.

That's already happened. The Teslas are pretty damn quick.

1970 ram air IV test was 14.11 and a new V6 camaro will turn 13.60 different world. My 68 Firebird will turn mid to low 11’s. At the track your running right in the average of performance street cars being driven to the track again very different world. I guess the best part is your in the lanes surrounded by modern muscle and you get a lot of attention for having the old car that can keep up or you come back after a run and the guy and his buddy’s come over wanting to know what’s under the hood of the old car that just put it to his Mustang. Then you show them the quadrajet stock intake and exhaust manifolds and the looks and questions are priceless.

The new cars have it all over our 50+ year old ones when it comes to performance. Back in the late '70's, I got into GTO's because they were way faster than the new hot cars, like the Trans Ams and Z-28's. And Corvettes. WAY faster. 40 years later, not so. Cars today are faster than ever. That said, they are appliances.....to be discarded when used up. The plastics out-gas, the air bags expire, the computers and sensors die, and the technology is no longer supported. NOBODY will be driving a 52 year old Altima or even Porsche.....they will be inoperable. But my 100 year old GTO or that 100 year old 356 Porsche will still be viable transportation......just like my 104 year old Model T Ford is today. And yes, it's much slower than my 52 year old '67 GTO.....

Someone competed at the Hot Rod Drag Week this year with a Tesla, their average over the five day event was 10.66 seconds and 125mph.

Thanks for providing some more evidence as to why I rarely agree with you.

For some reason you seem to think that calling a former true parts professional a "parts pusher" is a unique personal insult.

I consider the source and wear it as a badge of honor.
My brother is employed as a purchaser for a large new & pre owned dealership chain in St Louis. They have a very specific list of what they want and what they do not want for their pre owned lots.
Nissans are on the list that are ok to buy only if they have low mileage and still have the factory warranty. If they’re outside the factory warranty he is not supposed to buy for them because of their issues.
One of their biggest issues are ever since they got in bed with Renault; those junk CVT transmissions are as durable as potato chips.

If ALL cars didn't break, I would have had little to do the past 45 years. My sister has an Altima with a CVT. It's transportation, that's about all I can say about it. I would think the average owner would have about the same emotion owning it as buying a new toaster oven.

Aren't you the same dummy that told us 'even the lowest GTOs had considerably more horsepower than the Buick GNX'? Just how many horsies are under an Altima's hood? 248.

Yeah, this thread delivered.

Electric vehicles intrigue me. I considered purchasing an electric dirt bike due to environmental impact and a lot less maintenance on engine (top end rebuilds, oil changes, air filter cleaning etc). However they do not have the operating range I need before decreased performance because of battery drain.

Let's face it, if you grew up with musclecars it is the sound of a well cammed engine, the smell of high octane fuel, and the shaking and rattling that is so intoxicating to us! You just don't get that with an electric vehicle. Power yes, but so smooth and quiet it is rather "forgetable".

Ever consider the cost of a battery pack? Ever install a battery pack? I have.

I have owned at least 10 Nissans . Never ever had a problem with any of them some I ran almost 300,000 miles before I sold them.

They ALL break Genius..

Nissans are among the worst of the Japanese makes. Only Suzuki and Mitsubishi are worse. Although I hate them, I would take a Toyota over any other Japanese make, even though they are the most overrated marque out there.

Also was the gto tuned or just put together and not bothered with? Take a 360 hp gto,,,add a carb thats out of wack and a dist. thats not operating correctly and now you have a 250 hp gto. Just these 2 basic items not being correct(easy to do) can kill performance.
