Door panels where originals. They had a little fading on the top. If I would have kept it I would have replaced them most likely with legendary. They seat covers where built with material I got from SMS. They where a exact match to a original unfaded piece. To the left is a PUI cover that came with the car when I got it. I ended up putting those in trash.

After the TA nats I decided to overspray the bottom of the car. It took a buddy and I about two hours to take it apart and four hours to put it back together. I really like the look of the overspray.

this one looks like a car that sold on eBay a few years ago. Love this color with the black stripe!

I'm rebuilding my engine, port matched intake, ported 197's, HO exhaust manifolds w/ 2.5 exits, 4.25 forged crank, eagle 6.8 rods, ross 40 over pistons w/ a small dome putting the compression at 9.75 to 1. butler recommended a comp xe284 w/a 112 lsa for a flat tappet. I have also considered a roller but I'm not sure if I would gain that much running manifolds. Tell me what you think.

Talk to SD performance.
Their Stump Puller grind is an excellent cam and was designed with using manifolds in mind.
This cam would outperform the XE284 by a long shot.

Nice detail work there Chuck - I'd say it was worth the time!

for posterity, here's a pic of the Red 455HO with black stripes since the eBay links are useless after a few months

Definately a sharp looking color combination..........

As I recall,Arrest Me RED,was the color change default setting for most 70-73 non-T/A's.

Nice to see some diversity now with people staying with what's stamped cowl tag...

Got me on that one....I glanced at the cowl tag and it looks a bit hammered....

The drivers seat appears to have been worked on....definately not up to speed with the rest of the car.

yes, along with the rear, side marker lense bezels.

I had a '71 Formula 400-4 spd in the same color combo with the same side stripe, and even the Honeycombs. This one is almost a twin.

I would like to see that PHS too.

Dealer is good at pix, and talking...Never mentioned color change.

If it has RA its real rare...more rare with spoiler, and stripe too.

Never seen a stripe on a original formula.

Anyone have a picture?

Did the 71 Formula have the spoiler as an option? I thought it wasn't until 72. My 72 didn't come with one, but I like the look and am thinking of purchasing a used or aftermarket trunk lid and have one put on prior to re-painting when time comes.

even if it had a spoiler, those are the wrong later tips.

This is a cool car, but I would strongly suggest getting the PHS on it before placing a bid. I'm not sure, but it appears to be the same car I saw in a local body shop in Ohio around 2008. Besides the color change, the wrong rear spoiler, the stripe that is reflective ( not a solid black) which I am sure is not correct, there were several other issues including a NOM. At the time the shop would not show me the PHS which was a red Flag, so I didn't pursue it. But it would be a fun cruiser though!
