Thanks for the heads up Mark.
I will take a peek when the frame comes back from the blaster.

Got the frame back yesterday
Luckily no cracks as Mark pointed out in his post.
Started to assemble front suspension and sort out the new brake lines
since they always need a bit massaging to fit perfectly,
Have upper and lower control arms painted and new bushings and ball joints installed
Have the upper ball joints “riveted” . Ok I cheated like everyone else! Actually rivet head with threads.
Just need to sandblast a few more parts on my own and can finish the chassis

I goofed on mine as I did not put the fuel lines in before the springs.

Looking good!
Quick question for you. I see the upper control arm attaching bolt is what my 1966 GTO uses. I thought the 1967 upper control arms used a nut to tighten up the bushings??

Maybe you have an early year 1967 GTO??

You are correct
64 to early 67 used bolt and washer.
Late 67 and up used nut and washer.
All my front suspension parts are Moog that I bought
At Rock Auto last month. When I opened the boxes to install them in the control arms I realized they sent the early style . The problem is the shipping to return the parts to rock auto and get new parts cost more than the parts are worth And I didn’t feel like waiting another week.
Even though I have a late model 67 I’m not too concerned about using the early style.
But yes you have a good eye!

That’s good to know
I thought it was based on years and not plants
Thanks for the insight. Love this forum.

Just got back from vacation and back on the GTO
Needed to order a few more parts and now that I think I have everything I am putting the front suspension together now.
I should have my rear axle back from my rebuilder in a couple of weeks and then I will have a roller chassis

Your work is looking great.
I'll tell you something that I discovered on my cell phone camera.. When I look at my viewfinder there is a little horizon line. If that line is not upright at the bottom of the screen the photo isn't upright. That horizon symbol can migrate to any of the four sides of the screen depending on how you're holding the camera and especially if you're taking a photo aiming straight down at the subject. Wherever the horizon symbol is will be the bottom of the photo.

I had a 67 that came with one of each style control arm
and I'm 100% certain it hadn't been changed.

Do you have a better pic of the frame with the body biscuits still attached?

The short answer is No
I took about 300 photos during the disassembly process with my digital camera now the camera keeps telling me there is an SD card error and can’t access any of those pics which I wanted to use for future reference since this care was unmolested and in great condition.

maybe worthwhile to have someone "recover" those pics.

I had one do that and a buddy(who was on this forum and recently passed)
ran a program that recovered all but a few pics.

Default Special thanks to Frankyboy455

Big Thank you to Frank
He sold me his Rally 1 wheels, caps and trim rings for a reasonable price.
I sandblasted the steel rims and stripped the black paint off the centers and polished the center cap.
I also scored a set of NOS trim rings
Thanks Frank !
They came out great

While you guys are on the subject of Rally Ones, is there a 'tell' for which ones are original vs repops? ...ie. the rims themselves, not the rings.

I got lucky and found a guy on FB marketplace that was fairly local to me selling them
He told me he bought them years ago
Date on the box is 1983!
I have a bunch of mis matched trim rings and
Center caps
Most likely will sell them off along with a room of
Other parts I accumulated over the years
Just don’t have the time to post sell anything yet.
Trying to get this car completed by next summer
