Default 68 Intake Manifold

Wanted
68 intake manifold 9794234. Dated late March to April '68.
The original as well as three others I have looked at were cracked at the secondary openings. Apparently this is a common problem for the 68-69 intakes.

I'm no expert but it doesn't appear that is much of a crack. I suppose if given the choice i would want one with out that crack... but how much gas and air do you think are going through that crack? It doesn't even seem to extend to the surface where the carb mounts. Someone will probably tell me why i'm wrong but I would't think that crack is making any difference. Even when if heats up.

Also I have never heard of 68-69 manifolds having that problem?

Either way you can find them for less than $100 all day. I see them on CL often. I recently bought a 69' 4bbl intake for $80. Pitting around the upper water connection is much more of a common issue I would think.

Think of that crack as low-rate EGR
