Default TPS codes?

This has happened twice now. Car goes into fail safe mode(Or limp home mode, lol) shuts off cruise, traction control, sets engine light,& display safe mode. When I check code, says throttle position sensors. Says to replace, that they are non serviceable....This happened both times when temps are below 20deg.(?) Anyone know of a repair for this? My sisters V8 Trailblazer did this in Dec., my brother-in-law said he popped side cover off to expose gear set, and spray cleaned,& applied coat of silicon spray to gears. They haven't had any more codes, or any more erratic feel in throttle. Wanted to see if anyone else seen this. Thanks for any help.KD

Anyone? I since cleaned throttle body and no more trouble. What I found was oily residue in air tube where EGR enters tube,& in throttle body. After spray cleaning, have had no problems.Don't think it had anything to do with gears in throttle body?I think this residue(carbon & oil mist) was keeping throttle blade from seating correctly, thus getting throttle position sensors out of range?
