Default WTB. 400 motor.

Looking for a 400 motor for a basically stock rebuild. Interested in seeing whats out there. Complete? Running or needs rebuild? Preferably in the Orlando/Tampa/Sarasota Fl. areas thats close enough to drive and pick up. Shipping would probably cost prohibitive.
Thanks.

Default 400

I’ve got a later model 400 with 6x heads id let go.. It’s the 557 block but fine for a stock rebuild.
I’d take $300 and could get it to you.

Sounds fair. Is it a bare block?

I have a crank, rods with arp hardware, 30 over pistons, xe284 cam and lifters. No block at this time. I'm in Lakeland parts have less than 5000 miles but crank will need a quick polish.

Complete engine less intake, exhaust manifolds, and distributor.
I never ran it but turns through and should be good core. I can take a quick look at the internals and send pics if you are interested.

Did you settle on an engine ? I am thinking of pulling my 400 to drop in something a bit more beefy. Its built to RAiii specs on s 69 block. Doesn't need rebuilt. I'm south of Daytona.
Thought I'd throw it out there.

Hey Scott, I have a few blocks, 1 or 2 complete, in Ocala if your deal doesn't work out.

I have a 1967 400, complete carb to pan. Distributor, coil, carb, fuel pump, starter is all still bolted to the engine. Pulled 30 years ago from a running car and stored in an unheated shed. Engine still turns over freely. Missing 1 original valve cover that was robbed for a project, but a different one was installed at that time to keep it sealed up.

325 HP big car engine
YE code block, casting #9786133, A057 date code
143 heads
4242S carb

Asking $800

Willing to put on a pallet for shipping.
