There are two ways:

You can attach a picture (most common):

When you are writing your post, Scroll down and click Manage Attachments under Additional Options.
Browse your harddrive until you find the picture(s) you want to attach and click upload.
Unfortunatly, this method only works if the file size of the picture is below 300kb.

Or you can link to a picture that is hosted on another website:

just type the following - [img]url[/img]
but in place of url, enter the web address of the picture you want to appear in your post. (ie. http://www.somewhere.com/something.jpg)
This method has no file size limit.

I hope that helps.

Any photo editing software program can resize. Most cameras come with software that will easily do this. If you don't have a program, there are free ones on the web. http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads37.html has some freeware you can download.

Are these directions still valid? I cannot seem to figure it out and would like to know how to post f regular size pics on a post and not use the thumbnails.

thank you,
Steve

Hi Steve
Most of the instructions are still valid.
The only thing that has changed is that there is no file size limitation in the "Manage Attachments" option (the forums resizes the pictures for you).
The "Manage Attachments" option will get displayed as a thumbnail that members will have to click to view in full size.

What you are asking for will require the other method. You'll have to post the picture somewhere else on the internet (ie. on your own website or a picture sharing site like photobucket). You can click the square yellow icon (labeled "Insert Image") in the message editor to automatically create the [IMG] tags for you.

Give it a try and let me know if you run into problems.

Steve
