Can't figure out VIN number.
I recently purchased a box of parts, manuals and literature supposedly for a 67 GTO. Amoung the information was an Owner Protection Plan booklet with the VIN 256397X139780, I know the 2 indicates Pontiac, the 4th and 5th digit (39) indicate 4 door coupe, 7 of course for 1967 and X for Kansas City, Kansas. Digits 2 and 3 (56) don't match anything I have for identifying the car. Anyone have any ideas? (I'd be glad to reunite the book with the car if it still exists.)

Thanks for steering me in the right direction -- it is for an Executive as you indicated, the Star Chief part of the name apparently was last used for the 66 model year.
