Rob. i understand that but so far this trip is tipping the scales past 1500.000$ Climbing.Nice to have shuttle service available to the track & motels. Not counting eating
and a beer or 2. Gosh, i would love to at least buy a shirt there.

Your going to make the deciding factor of the trip on if you can get a shuttle ride from the airport to a hotel or not??????? What if those beers are $10 a piece instead of $3? What if the $5 a meal you allotted ends up being $15 a meal???? What if the T-shirt you thought would be $10 is actually $25???? What If there is an awesome strip joint next to the hotel or track, are you not going to go check it out with the rest of the guys who may be staying in the same hotel as you because you didn't budget for that???? Just put a wad of cash in your pocket or sign up for a new 0% interest credit card and go have fun!!! :thumb up:
Them strippers have a perfect place to swipe that new credit card!

Exactly
It's not like cab fare will be that much. The airport to the hotel is maybe 8 miles and from the hotel to the track is 5 miles.
If you wanted walking distance to the track you could have stayed at Wildhorse casino hotel. But I'm sure it's a little more expensive.
Just look online at a map of the area.

Your taking everything wrong. Its the nickel & diming here & there is why the shows are loosing some fan fare. Not worried about a taxi at all, then its this then its that.Don,t forget gambling then Rodeo then this then that . At 63 yrs young you have to drawl the line someplace.I keep seeing walking distance from the Motels, 20 miles???Go,s on & on. Love to make the show but im having second thoughts.

Post 13 states:

There are special "Pontiac Heaven" rates. The Marriott offers shuttle service to and from the track as well as trailer parking.

The Wild Horse Casino/ Hotel is only 1.1 miles from the track. In fact you can see it from the stands.

Hi Cruiser,
I do have a contract with the Marriott that includes shuttle service to and from the track for Sat and Sunday.
If you fly into Sky Harbor, I would take the van airport shuttle to the hotel, then you can get to and from the track over the weekend.
If there are other questions, best to call me direct or email direct.

It's in walking distance to the event but the rooms aren't cheap.

2 months away, make plans to attend.

The Sunday portion of Pontiac Heaven weekend is full of nostalgia and the Pontiacs take on other brands on the strip and in the show.

Shown in the above flyer are pics of the Pontiac Powered Top Fuel Dragster run by Turk/Cox/Braswell. I have found this car, purchased it and it is being restored and will be shown for the first time with the original team members! How cool is that!

I'm coming from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, I can't wait ... Looking forward to meet you and other Pontiac Enthusiasts like us (I've been one since 1988). I would love to do the Pontiac cars and parts salvage yard tour ... I heard nothing but good things about this event ! See you soon !

Question

Just wondering, are 2004-2006 GTOs excluded from this event? Not trying to start trouble, just asking because the verbage is "Real Pontiacs Only, No corporate nonsense"
Some of those guys get pretty worked up if you tell them they don't have a "real GTO" and it looks like from the wording, I am correct that you don't allow them to take part in this event?

Pontiac Heaven weekend is in 2 weeks here is warm, sunny central Arizona!

There are 2 host hotels with special rates, meet Jeff Kauffman in person, lots of drag racing on a NHRA national event track! Lots to do in the immediate area- endless shopping, casino gaming, tons of places to eat. Rawhide 1880's Western town, golf, horseback riding, tours of one of the Pontiac Heaven facilities, plus 2 collector salvage yards. So much to enjoy in Arizona.
Racing continues Saturday until midnight with diesel drags and the "All Years Muscle Shoot out" Then, Sunday is a great day of nostalgia racing and another car show! See the newly restored Pontiac Top Fuel dragster of Turk/Cox/Braswell and meet the original team as well! Lots to see and do. info at pontiacheaven.org

Pontiac Heaven events were started in 1998 to promote the use and knowledge of the great Pontiac V8 produced from 1955-1981. of course we welcome and encourage the use of all the aftermarket supplies as well ( IA-II, Mr-1, etc ). Any vehicle with real Pontiac power is always welcome.

Any year vehicle and any make is welcome to participate at Pontiac Heaven. There never has been any restriction on the body type, make or year of vehicle. What is required for all participants is they are to be powered by a traditional ( Real ) Pontiac v8 engine. Over the years we had had many other brands attend using real Pontiac power and they are quite welcome here- Camaros, Monte Carlos, chev trucks, Ford trucks, boats, etc.
all spectators welcome.
n Saturday night, I offer the All Years Muscle Shoot Out and there are no restrictions at all, it is an open track. So, the late, imported GTOs can race on Sat night. Sunday is open to all brands 1981 and older.

Steve, Can you tell us more about the salvage yard tour. Us easterners don't get to many old yards anymore. Mine is crushing out up in the coal region.
