Look at post #49. That's where you will find the disappointment.

I’ve got a ‘73 Brewster with a nice little E-headed FT-cammed 461 and a TKO-600. That Green TA gets more waves, thumbs-ups and conversations at gas stations and parking lots than any car I have ever owned. I’d love a ride in your Brewster Beast. I bet it’s just a g-force light switch.

Beautiful car PDC. Brewster Green is my favorite color and it's a manual trans, too! If you told me you had a Saddle interior I'd swoon.

Sure don’t want to hijack Napster’s thread ... interior is black. After a series of noob miscues, the original 455 auto driveline is long gone. But she’s a really nice resto mod and a great weekend cruiser. My advice to my younger self? Spend a year on these forums BEFORE you buy your first classic poncho or decide on your first ‘upgrades’ ... Oh well. Live and learn!

Napster,

What transmission and rear gear ratio are you running?

PDC,

Love the car. Sounds like a real nice ride. Like the pics of the car.

I really didn't plan on the car going in this direction. If the original 455 was ok all I was going to do was change to a 4 speed, D port manifolds, true dual exhaust, new shocks and tires. It all changed when I found out the engine had a problem

Tremec Magnum T-56 6 speed and 3.73 out back.

The tremec mimics a Munci M-20 first four gears and 5th is .83 OD and 6th is .63 OD.

Here is another thread that details other items besides the engine:

Damn, that’s gonna be a nice combo.

I’m running a 461 with a M20 and small-ish hyd roller cam (230/236) and 3.42 gear, but with 28” tires the effective gear is around 3.23. I’d say the perfect gear for this combo would be 3.55. Your 3.73 should be pretty close to the sweet spot in 1st gear for a street car.

I’ve also played around with rocker ratios, running HS 1.65s, 1.5s and a mix with 1.65s on the intake and 1.5s on the exhaust. The different ratios shift the powerband around more than I would have thought. The mixed ratio between intake and exhaust is working the best for my combo.
