Default Have you ever seen a 12 oops 13 head?

A friend just bought 68 400 engine with this on it.
The other side is a 13.

I've never seen just one number ground off.

I had a #12 head off of a 1970 WS that was ground down and stamped 12. The mating head was a cast-in 12 dated early 1970, the second head was stamped 12 and dated late 1969 calendar year. I've seen a quite a few stamped like that.
