Default correct way to paint parking brake assembly

Repainting my parking brake assembly on my 67 GTO, and I was wondering if someone could post a pic or give info on the correct way to paint it. The resto book says 60 degree black, but some say it is just the pedal, and the handle shaft and main body are bare metal. Any help would be great.

Because my PB assembly was all rusty I cleaned it up as best I could and painted it all with the 60 Black. Except the handle shaft..... Gibbs coated. If I'd had the Gibbs before I painted it, I'd only painted the pedal arm and coated the rest with the Gibbs Brand to get it back to bare metal... as it came from the factory.

Most of the small parts were dipped.....in a tank of water with black paint floating on top.

Then, the parts were hung on racks to dry.

Most of the dipped parts had runs on them for that reason.

Saw it first hand at the GM Framingham plant in 1972.
