Thanks, I hope Kat lets me drive it some times! She is pretty exited, she wanted an Orange G8, but they did not make them in 2009, so we settled for a white one.

We ordered the Scat Pack in Go Mango.

When I started Looking for a replacement for the G8, she had the following "musts" 4-door sedan, RWD, V8 powered, and a large trunk. The only GM product that fit those was the Cadillac CT6 V, we looked at it and she didn't care for the styling, or the color options. Then she noticed you had to have a Sunroof & Leather Seats (2 things she would prefer not to have) Then we noticed the starting price $96,000 USD's!!!!! A bit out of our price range.

Nothing from Ford met her must have list, then we went to see the Chargers as the last Domestic option. She liked the Charger as soon as she saw it, then when she saw the Cloth Sport seats had a Houndstooth pattern (one of her favorites) she was almost sold. Then she drove one, even she said it drove much better than the 2009 we test drove before buying the G8. So the order was placed.

I have never owned a new Chrysler car before, some trucks in the past, and the long term durability was soso on the trucks. So I am a bit leary as we usually hang onto a car for at least 10 years. Fingers crossed.

So you want to replace a 14-year-old design (G8-Holden Commodore) with a 25-year-old E-Class design (W210 Mercedes)?

I understand what you are saying, but what else is out there that is full size, RWD, and V8 powered for under $50,000?

Here is a board I found that is decent. What all options did she go with?

You'll enjoy the car. I saw one in B5 Blue at the Detroit Auto Show. When they became available I ordered one from the dealership in Frankenmuth. Owned it for 4 1/2 years and put
40,000 miles on it It would get 25 mpg on the highway. I sold it to the dealership and bought a 2020 Durango R/T.

My wife has a Daytona, the only complaint she said was it rode rougher than her previous R/T. It sounds killer, runs great, can seat 5 adults, has a real trunk, get better mpg than my 09 Vibe, turns heads, and has enough buttons to keep us gearheads occupied. I would buy a Scat Pack in an instant if I was in the market for a car, and I don't even have a use for the rear doors. I'm down south for work currently and I see several daily, but have yet to see a Go Mango, good choice Jeff!

Thanks for the Link, we didn't get much extra just the drivers Confidence group, the Navigation & Travel group (because she does not like hooking her phone up LOL) & the Harmon Kardon Audio system.

Other than the Go Mango Paint and the Standard Cloth Sport seats wit the Bee Logos

This is mine, B5 blue. Only option I got was drivers confidence group. When looking at them, my wife liked both the Go Mango and the B5 (she is looking at an orange Nissan Rogue now).

I could have this conversation all day about GM saying there is no market for full size rear wheel drive cars.

Old design or not- these LX cars are amazing performers and great values. The only think GM offers comparable is a 100k Cadillac??? No thanks.

So it makes her winter driving more difficult. What really brought it to a boil was last week when the anti lock brake message on it also turned on the check engine light, with the check engine light on the remote start won't work. This condition has only occured 2 times in the last 6 months, but the 2nd time was last week when I was away for work we had 8 inch's of snow fall, and she could start the car from inside the house.

So she test drove the Scat Pack Charger Monday, and we placed the order today. Anyone want to buy a 98,000 mile G8 GT?
I just sent an email to someone at GM that I use to work with before I retired. I’m hoping that one of his contacts in Service Parts Engineering will be able to shed some light on the yaw sensor issue. I’ll update this forum if/when I hear anything.

I appreciate the effort, it will be interesting to see if they have an alternative sensor.

New style "Hemis" have a different problem, that they actually share with the LS series V8s, IF they have cylinder deactivation. The switching lifters can go bad, and in some cases, take the camshaft out with it.

Read your opening paragraph and...dude...you need a new car for her ASAP.

Can't survive without anti-lock brakes, traction-control or the ability to start it from inside the house so it's toasty warm when she gets in it...then you need to get her a new car ASAP.

Happy wife, happy life.

Were you able to find a new yaw sensor to fix it first or did the buyer buy your G8 with the Stability control, ABS, TCS and remote start not working?

Actually was contacted by the old Pontiac Dealer we bought the car from, they offered me $200 more than the least I would take for it knowing about the issue with the car. They are confident they can fix it. The offer was $1500 more than the dodge dealer would give me for a trade in, and I don't have to deal with the C/L crowd anymore.

The car is in great shape for its age & Mileage. I was surprised I got a call from that dealer, as it never went back for service there, as it is about an hour drive from our house. But they knew it was a one owner car when they ran the VIN and saw they sold it to me. But I think the owners daughter wanted the car. She was looking it over after the deal was made, and took it for a test drive.
