They looked forged or cast to me. Im not saying they dont build from billets, its just that my are not made that way. Im pretty sure its not extruded, if they were you would see at least two sides of the rocker being machined.

Camshafts are like Girlfriends, everyone has one and sees different qualities in each one of them. My "Opinion" is just that, based on what I have seen that works in the parameters (that I was provided with).

I would add another name to your contacted list: Steve Morris. Steve has a great deal of boosted engine camshaft experience (verified with dyno testing). Really it boils down to what Ed thinks that he wants. Ed can try a bunch of camshafts (if he has the money) until he gets the one that HE is satisfied with. Everyone else is just providing Ed with information, based on their backgrounds.

Even with a background in Behavioral Psychology, lol, I cannot control how people buy camshafts and from whom.

Have a great day. Looking forward to Ed's final engine numbers with boost.

The key is -- rpm and boost pressure --up to a point he will be fine -- past that not so good - -so who is defining that point???

Hi Curt,

To hit the day-1 1600hp Pump-Gas design goal, the data supplied by Turbonetics says ~20lb of boost assuming the base NA HP was 751.6. The one dyno sheet I've seen says the engine makes 660hp.
The valves are not Titanium. Victory stainless intake, inconel exhaust. This is another case where I don't have the actual part numbers.

Hi Tom,
What parameters were you provided with for this build and were your opinions used in this camshaft design? I’ve gotten a few different stories regarding the origin of this cam.

Sorry about all of your troubles. What a crappy situation

Cam designs for turbo applications are all over the place depending on who you are taking to. Some do a split with more intake duration than exhaust, other do the opposite similar to a supercharger type cam. Find someone you trust with a proven track record of making turbo cars run and go with them.

I'll work through it with the help of the guys on the board and get this thing running.

Cam design for your turbo engine did not come from me, (to the best of my limited knowledge) on your RA-V deal. I had no info on your head flow and rpm targets so pretty hard to make a valid camshaft recommendation.

I think my ONLY input in the deal was I said "I would dyno the engine at Steve Morris' shop and then he can pick a custom turbo camshaft based on that dyno info". Steve Morris, in my opinion, based on observing several very high HP Turbo Dyno sessions that were successful at Steve's shop, had the ability to give you a very nice high HP Turbo Engine. Sorry to hear that you are having all of these issues on your build.

Thanks Jeff,

The engine wasn't in the final location yet, I don't think we're going to be able to move it too far from the stock location due to header clearance.

Looks good, it seems your starting to catch up with me!

Are you going with a standard 9" or stepping up to a 9.5" rearend?

Going with an ultra case, it will accept either. Haven't picked the gears yet.

I'll be sticking with the standard 9" ring gear. Does anyone make a 3.xx ratio 9.5 gearset?
