Yeah Pat, I think this last Luxury Lemans I parted that was a 49,000 mile car was the first I've seen with the sound deadener on the package tray along with the insulation? I have a couple Luxury Lemans and a Sport GT and nine of them have the mesh tray so I'm still not sure when you got that or if it was a certain plant that used them. David all my trays are painted cardboard I think, not covered with vinyl. I will check tonight and see!

I'm beginning to wonder if the package tray is a plant thing.. Different plants have different suppliers maybe?

Here's some picture's David, I know they aren't to good? Pretty hard to move this stuff around without it totally falling apart. There is another under the top one, but I think it is from a '74 Lemans.

Ok, So I found a mesh package tray that I took out of a '72 Luxury Lemans, so as bigborehunter said they did come in some '72's. I had forgotten about this one and it came out of a low mile car I parted! Here are some pictures. It has holes thru the cardboard for the speaker, but not the mesh. Pretty had to see in the pictures, it is in the attic and I don't want to move it around to much and ruin it! First pictures are of another one I had up there of just the insulation on the bottom.

...and here's one of the speaker holes which you probably can't see?

Great pictures! So now we know there was mesh tray in 72.

What's the material under the cardboard? Some type of felt/jute?

I can see the pre-cut holes for the speakers and defogger, but I wonder what the 2 other holes are for..? My guess is rear shoulder belts.

Pictures of original stuff are priceless! We dont see those parts very often as they are usually falling apart badly when removed.
