I wondering if adding the heater core nipple on the drivers side head and passenger side head to the crossover is worth the trouble?
I seen here and other places cooling the back of the heads is maybe worth some horsepower?
Can someone give me the part numbers?
Thanks

Is that P/N the heavier steel parts or the lightweight tin pieces?

Guy,

Hp gains, if any, would be due to uniform lower engine temps and improved cyl. bore stability. The claims that I have seen for this mod are that it lowers coolant temps a few degrees, which is always welcome.

I did it and lost about 10-15 degrees with that being the only change. My 180 thermostat used to be open all the time after warm-up and temp. ran around 195.Now the thermostat actually opens and closes at a constant temp..I think it's worth it. Al

That's the only number there is. Last time I bought one from the dealer, it was stamped steel. I'd bet you can't get the heavier ones any more.

That's what they are, about half the thickness of the orignals. You can't even get a good freeze plug any more as they are about half the thickness as they were a few years ago. I had a set of freeze plugs laying around that i got from H-O Racing 15 years ago and never used, they are much thicker than the ones you get today and we used them in my new street engine that is sitting on the dyno now.
